Gavel in court
The trial of alleged underworld gang bosses Jerome “Donkie” Booysen, André Naude and several others has been held over in the High Court in Cape Town until today.
The matter was set to resume yesterday, however, several issues prompted yet another postponement.
Accused number one in the case, Mark Lifman, was gunned down earlier this month in George.
The trial relates to the killing of steroid smuggler Brian Wainstein in 2017.
The state told the court yesterday that it is ready to proceed with its case.
Two of the accused were absent.
Bevan Ezaus was taken into custody over the weekend for an unnamed reason but has since been released; while Ismail Cupido, who is an epileptic, suffered seizures over the weekend.
