State prosecutor in Meyiwa trial questions accused Sibiya on his alleged statement

The state in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has been going through various similarities found in the statement allegedly made by accused one Muzi Sibiya and some state witnesses.

Sibiya, who had been on the witness stand at the High Court in Pretoria, is being cross examined by state prosecutor George Baloyi.

He is one of five accused of the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.

Sibiya has denied pointing out the crime scene and denies ever confessing to his role in the murder.

Advocate Baloyi says some information on his statement is similar to that supplied by other state witnesses.

State prosecutor Baloyi in his questioning asked, “And the version contains in both exhibits as to how the incident, how two people enter the house, demanded cell phone and money. Then there was a struggle with Mr. C. Jomea and that he was shot. Then of course with a of Miss. Zandi, Mr. Mthokozisi Twala, and Mr. Tumelo Madlala?”

Sibiya’s defence Advocate Zandile Mshololo objected, “My Lord. It does not accord with the evidence of Tumelo.
He has never implicated Marco and Makhimbi. There’s no implication to that witness to that evidence. No.”‘

Baloyi responded, “Maybe let me rephrase that two people enter the house, demanded cell phone and money, that there was a struggle and that Mr. Senzo Meyiwa was shot during the struggle.

Sibiya testified, “I’ve already indicated that I do not know anything about this and stated further that the person you or the people you can ask is Gininda, Mbotho and I’ve been mentioning it that I do not know anything about the shooting of Senzo.”
