Springboks and All Blacks match at Eden Park Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand on September 6, 2025.
The Springboks have overhauled their backline for their round four Rugby Championship rematch against the All Blacks in Wellington on Saturday.
The new backline with Cobus Reinach and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu as the halfback pairing has been tasked with getting a misfiring Green and Gold machine back into gear.
Springbok Coach Rassie Erasmus says it is not only players but also coaches who did not perform. “If we get through this game and we win the game, we will either be number one or two in the world, I guess and then it is after eight games and then we are halfway through the season.”
Erasmus adds, “So the big goal is to build squad depth. As I said last week, that is introducing youngsters sometimes with some senior players. Introducing youngsters at different venues, introducing youngsters at other opposition who are really good number one in the world in their home field under pressure with crowd pressure and then slowly seeing how they develop.”
Rassie Erasmus has made a number of tweaks to the #Springboks team for Saturday’s second clash against the All Blacks in New Zealand 🫡#ForeverGreenForeverGold
