Spaza shop owners and operators in Johannesburg who applied to operate on their property are urged to come and check the status of their applications.
The City of Johannesburg’s Development Planning Department says it received close to 2 000 land use consent applications since November last year.
Development Planning MMC Eunice Mgcina says in most of the applications received, the contact details are incorrect, resulting in the department not being able to contact the applicants to submit the outstanding documents required to finalise their applications.
“We are calling upon all residents who submitted documents to the department to assist the department in finalizing all spaza shop applications, that have been submitted for verification in the department. Please come and verify your information.”
“We are currently situated at forum 1, Braam Park Offices in Braamfontein in Johannesburg from 08:30 to 14:00, from Monday to Friday. We call all residents to respond to this call.”
