Spar Proteas commit to growing netball in disadvantaged communities

The Spar Proteas netball national team says it is dedicated to developing the sport in disadvantaged communities.

Three players from the women’s national team conducted a coaching clinic for players from schools and clubs in the Lowveld area of Mpumalanga at the Mbombela Stadium.

It aimed to enhance the skills of upcoming players and deepen their understanding of the game, while also supporting their local coaches.

These players from the selected schools say they are grateful.

“I just feel inspired to play and I have been playing ever since,” says one player.

“Being here today is a great feeling because I have learnt so much so far today and many things that I didn’t know. I wish one day I could be the most powerful player and make it one day,” says another player.

Another player says, “It has been very fun, and I have learnt a lot of new tricks. I have been playing netball since Grade 1, as long as I can remember.”
