Smear campaign by Mkhwanazi and Masemola preventing me from vying for top SAPS job: Sibiya

Suspended National Deputy Police Commissioner for Crime Detection Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya claims that there’s a smear campaign to prevent him from vying for the vacant position of Hawks boss or the National Police Commissioner when it becomes vacant.

He alleges that those involved in the campaign include National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola and KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

Sibiya appeared before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee looking at concerns of national security.

“It is so unfortunate … the situation in which I found myself when your colleagues are pushing you out and they make [your] life so difficult and they paint you black and create an irretrievable broken relationship. I also have a family for a certain group to say you are not going to get that position and I wish the President can be the father of all of us,” explains Sibiya.
