A six-week-old baby has been killed and several adults injured following a crash involving a taxi and a bakkie in Bredell, Kempton Park on Gauteng’s East Rand.
The exact cause of the crash is still unknown at this stage.
Ekurhuleni EMS Spokesperson William Ntladi says the injured have all been taken to various hospitals.
“A Toyota Quantum, which had about 15 occupants, was involved in a crash with a bakkie with about three occupants. A toddler, about six weeks old, was declared dead on scene, and five others including both drivers sustained critical injuries and were transported to hospital. Eleven others were transported as well, and they were in serious but stable conditions,” says Ntladi.
