President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The Walter and Albertina Sisulu Foundation has called for President Cyril Ramaphosa to resign, citing his failure to effectively address the country’s corruption crisis.
The Foundation was reacting to the President’s decision to place the Police Minister Senzo Mchunu on special leave and creating a judicial commission of inquiry.
This follows allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who accused Mchunu and other senior police officials of interfering with criminal investigations.
The Foundation’s chairperson, Dr Allan Boesak says, “If we have to argue we would have to assume that Cyril Ramaphosa since the time he became President has tried very hard to right what is wrong to give the kind on leadership that is necessary to be decisive on times and the moments he should have. He has proved the exact opposite, he is not decisive he is not serious about corruption.”
