Sibiya denies being a rogue police officer

Suspended Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Shadrack Sibiya, has challenged his detractors to prove that he is a rogue police officer.

Sibiya is appearing before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee, for the second consecutive day.

The committee was established to investigate allegations by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi in July of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.

Sibiya has been described as a rogue police officer by National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola for his alleged involvement with individuals suspected to be linked to crime syndicates.

Sibiya gave MPs the assurance that he is not a rogue police man.

“I have never been one in my 37 years of service. I deny it, they must prove that.”
