Shooting in Umbumbulu leaves 2 family members dead, one injured

A father and his son have been shot dead, and another person, the mother, has been seriously injured at Umbumbulu on the south coast of Durban. It is alleged that this family was parked on the side of the road on R603 when the family was approached by gunmen who opened fire.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson explains, “And unfortunately, paramedics were shown to both the son and the father who had sustained multiple shots to their bodies and were declared deceased on the scene. The mother was treated for multiple wounds to lower limbs and stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital by EMRS paramedics. As I said, the scene stretches over some distance as one of the family members was found along the river further down the road. At this stage the cause of the shooting is unknown however, SAPS is in attendance and will be investigating further.”
