Eskom teams electricity supply at Nkowankowa and Lenyenye Substations in Tzaneen, Limpopo.
Severe weather conditions have impacted Eskom’s network across the country.
In a media statement, the power utility says major disruptions were reported in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and the Free State.
Eskom says efforts are under way to restore power in these areas, but the circumstances are challenging.
The power utility’s Spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says, “Ongoing adverse weather persisting daily through the festive season has led to a sharp increase in faults across Eskom’s supply areas nationwide.”
Mokwena adds, “While major disruptions in the Eastern Cape have largely been addressed, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Free State Provinces remain severely affected. Eskom teams are on the ground repairing damaged infrastructure to restore supply in affected communities, including Tzaneen and Ga-Mashashane in Limpopo.”
