Serial rapist sentenced
The Ermelo Regional Court in Mpumalanga has sentenced a 25-year-old man to five life terms and an additional 18 months’ imprisonment for rape and kidnapping.
Sandile Ngozo was found guilty on five counts of rape and three of kidnapping. Ngozo kidnapped and raped his victims in Ermelo and Breyten between 2019 and 2022.
His victims were aged between 15 and 27. Ngozo pleaded not guilty to the charges and claimed consent.
Provincial NPA spokesperson Monica Nyuswa says, “The state presented compelling evidence that included DNA analysis and a medical report confirming injuries. Nyuswa says the NPA welcomes the sentence.”
Ngozo’s name will be entered into the register of sexual offenders.
