Senzo Meyiwa murder trial set to resume in the Pretoria High Court

1 minute

The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is expected to resume in the High Court in Pretoria tomorrow morning.

Earlier this month, defence counsel Charles Mnisi indicated he was ready to proceed with the trial on the 19th of May.

Mnisi is expected to cross-examine lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda on behalf of accused No.: 1, Muzi Sibiya.

This follows numerous postponements to allow Advocate Mnisi adequate time to prepare for the defence of Sibiya.

Sibiya and four others are on trial at the High Court in Pretoria for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.

Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng has emphasised that the trial cannot afford to go through any more delays.

Meyiwa was shot and killed while at the parental home of former girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus on Gauteng’s East Rand.
