The Judicial Conduct Tribunal probing sexual harassment allegations against Judge President Selby Mbenenge has heard that the top judge allegedly sent the complainant a picture of his private parts, an allegation he denies.
The Tribunal, which currently has the complainant Andiswa Mengo on the witness stand, is combing through the lengthy WhatsApp messages between the pair.
Mengo accuses the Judge President of sexual harassment between June 2021 and November 2022. She testified that she received an image allegedly from Judge Mbenenge.
In IsiXhosa “Yayi’ private part yakhe (It was his private parts), the toilet cubicle.”
Mengo says “It was his private parts, with hair exactly the same colour of his hair on his head.”
Scheepers says “Was it a video, was it a photo, can you explain to us what type of message this was?”
Mengo says “It was a picture and in the picture it was clear that he was standing above the toilet cubicle.”
