KwaZulu-Natal Hawks Head General Lesetja Senona
KwaZulu-Natal Hawks Head General Lesetja Senona has testified that he did not open documents sent to him by Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala on the identity of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Evidence before the Madlanga Commission from Witness X, states that Matlala sent General Senona three different ID numbers allegedly belonging to the President.
Responding to evidence leader Advocate Adila Hassim, Senona says that he doesn’t know why the documents were sent to him.
“You know, these documents, when I look at them now, because it’s now that I see the contents, I would have reported this to my principal because it is unusual that a private person can have these documents. I didn’t open them, I didn’t know what was inside. If I knew, Commissioners, definitely I would have written an information note to my supervisor, informing him about this, what I’ve just discovered, with a person of sort.”
General Senona is expected to return on Thursday for further cross-examination.
