Senona ‘not barred’ from entering headquarters building: SAPS KZN

Police in KwaZulu-Natal say the provincial Hawks head, Major General Lesetja Senona, is not barred from entering the police headquarters building in the province.

This after Senona made claims over the weekend that he was kicked out of his office and his electronic devices confiscated on the instruction of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

The provincial police responded and accused Senona of breaching security protocols for entering the police headquarters on a weekend and of doing what they said were unusual activities that raised security concerns for the police.

Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda says Senona still has credentials to enter the building.

“General Senona had and still has every right to enter this building because he has credentials to enter the building. He can either enter the building with his vehicle or through the vehicle entrance and park at level one or he can come through this entrance here and sign the register, use his fingerprints or face cognition and get in – nothing has changed,” adds Netshiunda.
