Security has been beefed in the East London City Hall in the Eastern Cape, for the 5th elective conference of the ANC’s Dr WB Rubusana Region that’s currently under way.
A total of 200 voting delegates are expected to cast their votes for new regional leaders.
ANC Provincial Chairperson, Oscar Mabuyane, is expected to formally open the session.
Provincial Party Spokesperson, Yanga Zicina, says the conference will be incident free.
“I don’t think we should be worried we have beefed up security otherwise this is one of the conferences that is going to be characterised by a high level of discipline comrades are going to be tolerant there is nothing untoward.”
