The search for the SANDF member at the Komati River Mpumalanga has resumed.
The search for the missing member of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in the Nkomazi River in Komatipoort, Mpumalanga will resume this Saturday morning.
The search was suspended on Friday night following the recovery of one body from the flooding Nkomazi River.
It is believed that the members were trying to cross the river from Komatipoort to the Lebombo Border Post on the lower bridge when the vehicle was swept by the water and was trapped.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Donald Mdluli says the search by the police diving unit will continue again today.
“The operation will resume today in Komatipoort following the retrieval of an SANDF member from the river yesterday. This was after an SANDF bakkie was spotted inside a river. We got a report that there were two occupants in that vehicle, the operation was suspended yesterday and will resume this morning as the other member is still missing,” adds Mdluli.
