Ayanda Dludla appears in court.
The case of scholar transport driver Ayanda Dludla is set to return to the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court south of Johannesburg on Thursday.
The 22-year-old faces 14 counts of murder following a crash earlier this year that claimed the lives of 14 learners.
He also faces three counts of attempted murder and additional charges related to operating an unlicenced and unroadworthy vehicle.
Dludla, who was driving the scholar transport minibus taxi at the time of the crash, is expected to receive a provisional date for his bail application.
During his previous court appearance, his new legal team indicated that he intends to apply for bail.
The defence told the court that Dludla is remorseful and struggling while in custody.
