The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Level 4 weather warning for severe thunderstorms accompanied by hail which could hit areas in the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Residents, who will be travelling, are urged to be cautious as the hail could result to infrastructural damage and cause major travel disruptions.
Areas that could be affected include Alfred Duma, Ladysmith, Estcourt, Mooi River as well as Msinga.

Meanwhile, a family of four has been rescued from a near drowning incident at the non-bathing Baggies Beach in Amanzimtoti south coast of Durban.
According to Life Saving SA, two locals tried to rescue the family upon noticing a strong wave swallowing them.
Spokesperson Dhaya Sewduth says lifeguards from a near-by beach responded immediately and all six people were brought safely offshore.
“One female, three adults males got into trouble. Two locals went out to save them. All six got washed towards back line and started drowning. One boat was brought. Life guards from Doonside beach responding and also lifeguards from Toti beach. We got all 6 people out safety,” says Sewduth.
