The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has denied claims that beneficiaries will be receiving double payment for their social grants.
The agency’s spokesperson Andile Tshona has urged beneficiaries not to entertain information that doesn’t come from credible sources.
“SASSA would like to state that this is not true and that as SASSA, we urge all our beneficiaries and the public at large not to entertain this misinformation as there has been no announcement of social grants double payment by SASSA or government. It is for this reason that we appeal to the public to be cautious of the information they share on social media as it directly and adversely affects millions of our beneficiaries,” adds Tshona.
