SASSA announces that social grants will increase by R10


South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced that social grants will increase by R10 in the October payment cycle.

This will be the second increase in this financial year with the first increase in April as announced by the Minister of Finance during his 2025/26 budget speech.

SASSA spokesperson Andile Tshona says all eligible social grants beneficiaries will receive their grants without any interruptions.

“The social grant amounts will be increased as follows the Old Age Grants will increase from R2 310 to R2 320, Old Age Grants (older than 75 years) will increase from R2 330 to R2 340. War Veterans Grant will increase from R2 330 to R2 340, Disability Grant will increase from R2 310 to R2 320 and Care Dependency Grant will increase from R2 310 to R2 320.”
