SAPS launch manhunt after deadly tavern shooting in Embalenhle

Police in Mpumalanga have initiated a 72-hour search for a suspect who allegedly shot and killed two men at a tavern in Embalenhle on Thursday night. The motive of the shooting is currently unknown. However, it is alleged that an armed male arrived at the tavern, drew a firearm and fired shots.

The man then left the scene. Police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli says the suspect reportedly returned to the tavern at Extension 15 moments later and shot the two victims.

“Two victims were unfortunately certified dead by the paramedics who also attended the scene. Police urge anyone with information that may assist in this investigation to call Detective Captain Fanie Sindane on 077 429 6817 or 017 631 8024. They can also call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP,” says Mdhluli.
