SABC News will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Thursday, 17 July. The public broadcaster aired its first bulletin on radio in 1950.
The SABC was established in 1936 as a broadcaster.
As part of its mandate, SABC News has current affairs and bulletins in all the country’s official languages.
