SA won’t allow people to abuse immigration laws: Schreiber

Home Affairs Minister Dr. Leon Schreiber says South Africa will not allow people to abuse the immigration laws of the country.

Schreiber made the statement after seven Kenyans who were granted tourist visas were arrested after they were found to be working in Johannesburg.

He has dismissed false reports that two American officials were arrested during a sting operation.

PALESTINIANS

Earlier, Schreiber said none of the 153 Palestinian travellers who landed at the OR Tambo International Airport last month requested asylum in the country.

Al Jama-ah MP Imraan Ismail-Moosa asked Schreiber about his intervention and he responded in a written Parliamentary reply.

On the 13th of last month, 153 Palestinians landed in Johannesburg.
