SA women’s cricket team beat West Indies in ODI series

The South African women’s cricket team came from behind to beat the West Indies 2-1 in a three-match One Day International series played in Barbados.

The Proteas beat their hosts by 166 runs via the Duckworth, Lewis, Stern method in the third and final match earlier this morning.

The visitors batted first and posted 278 for the loss of six wickets off 45 overs and one delivery, before the rain came down.

Opening batters, captain Laura Wolvraadt and Tazmin Brits, laid the foundation with a 184-run partnership.

Brits led the way with a 101 scored off 91 balls with eight fours and four sixes. It was her fourth ODI century.

Following more rain delays, the West Indies were eventually set a revised target of 288 in 39 overs. But they were bowled out for 121 in the 28th over to hand the Proteas victory.
