SA Rugby extends Rassie Erasmus’s contract until 2031

SA Rugby has extended the contract of Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus for a further four years.

SA Rugby president Mark Alexander made the announcement at the federation’s general meeting of member unions.

He said the governing body was proud to reaffirm its commitment to excellence because Erasmus has made an enduring impact and shaped the identity of Springbok rugby.

The former Springbok captain was first appointed as the Director of Rugby in 2018. Under his guidance, South Africa won successive World Cups in 2019 and 2023.

They also finished the last three seasons as the top-ranked team in the world.
