Western Cape police are offering a reward of R100 000 for information related to the murder of a neighbourhood watch member in Makhaza, near Khayelitsha.

Farrington Mkutshulwa, 49, was fatally shot earlier this month while on patrol in the area.

According to police spokesperson Wesley Swartbooi, four suspects have been identified.

“Makhaza police responded to a complaint in Ezimfeneni informal settlement near Enkanini at about 23:30, where they found the body of the victim who succumbed to gunshot wounds to his body. He was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel,” said Swartbooi.

The motive for the attack remains under investigation by the South African Police Service.
