Revo Spies to continue his testimony at Madlanga Commission

Retired Ekurhuleni Deputy Chief of Police, Revo Spies will continue his testimony at the Madlanga Commission on Monday morning.

The commission is looking into criminality, corruption, and political interference in the criminal justice system.

Spies’ evidence before the commission has demonstrated links between Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department  (EMPD) deputy police chief Brigadier Julius Mkhwanazi and attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.

The fitting of blue lights on vehicles belonging to attempted murder accused, Cat Matlala took center stage at the Madlanga Commission.

This as witnesses testified that not only was the action unlawful but was authorised by deputy police chief Brigadier Mkhwanazi.

Witnesses have further testified that Brigadier Mkhwanazi also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Matlala’s Security company known as CAT VIP.

This was for the donation of vehicles to the Ekurhuleni Municipality , however, the handover did not occur.

Proceedings will continue at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria.
