Fire burning in Tokai, Table Mountain National Park.
SANParks has urged residents in both the east and west sections of Silvermine at the Table Mountain National Park to evacuate for their safety as firefighters continue to fight the blaze in Upper Tokai.
SANParks spokesperson JP Louw says flare-ups of the fire that started on Friday were reported throughout the morning.
He says three helicopters, a spotter plane, and ground firefighting teams from Table Mountain National Park, with support from the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services and Volunteer Wildfire Services are currently tending to the fire.

Louw says authorities are still investigating the origin of the fire, although early indications suggest it may have been started deliberately.
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says no properties are in danger due to the fire.
Smith says hikers on the Silvermine trail in Tokai are being evacuated as a safety precaution.
He says two choppers are water bombing the area.
“No property is damaged or under immediate threat. We taking every proactive measure to contain the fire. No injuries have been reported. And the cause of the fire is still unknown.
