Residents, businesses urged to comply with fireworks by-laws

The City of Tshwane has called on residents and businesses to strictly comply with the fireworks by-laws.

Emergency Services say the misuse of fireworks increases the risk of fires, injuries and damage to property.

The city has warned that illegal trading and unauthorised displays of fireworks will not be tolerated.

The city has reminded the public that any planned fireworks display must be approved in advance by the relevant authorities.

Traders are required to hold valid licences and obtain written permission before selling fireworks.

Emergency Services have also cautioned against the unsafe storage of flammable substances.

Residents are urged to report any fire or rescue incidents immediately to prevent loss of life and property.
