Police have confirmed that human remains have been found in the bushes at Rust De Winter in Gauteng. Police say DNA tests will be conducted to ascertain if they belong to missing journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli.
They were allegedly kidnapped from their plot in Pretoria East in February.
Five suspects have been arrested and have since appeared in court.
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola confirmed the discovery of the two bodies, that are yet to be identified.
“I just received a report while standing behind the minister confirming that two sets of human remains were found in the bushes in Rust De Winter. We are not yet sure if they belong to the missing individuals, but we will follow the necessary processes, including DNA testing with the families, to confirm their identities.”
