Western Cape Minister of Mobility Isaac Sileku has welcomed the postponement of the implementation of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO).
Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has announced that the rollout of the demerit system, which was due to start next month, has been postponed to July next year.
Seleku says the postponement provides much needed space to ensure that every municipality, enforcement agency, and operational team is fully prepared for the transition.
He has called for a united approach, saying his administration remains committed to cooperative governance and continued engagement with national and local partners.
