University of Venda campus
The registration of first time students has started at the University of Venda in Limpopo.
The institution says the online registration process is running smoothly.
The university has received more than 100 000 applications but can only admit just over 3 500.
University Spokesperson Takalani Dzaga says they are optimistic that the registration process will be concluded by the last week of this month.
“The registration process for 2025 academic year at the University of Venda is going on smoothly and we would like to urge prospective students who have applied to study with the University of Venda for 2025 academic year, to constantly check their admission status and to ensure that they finalize the registration process within the stipulated period. The reason being that we only have 3 684 spaces for 2025 first time entering students and we have also received over 100 000 applications for this limited number of spaces,” says Dzaga.
Dzaga is calling on prospective students not to fall prey to scammers who promise them admission.
“We also urge prospective students and parents as well as guardians to be cautious of scammers because we are aware that during this period of registration, there might be people who will pretend to be university officials. It’s also worth indicating that all monies that are to be paid to the university should only be deposited into the university account. There are no officials who have been designated to receive money on behalf of the university,” cautions Dzaga.
