A tap with running water.
Bulk water utility, Rand Water, says that it has started switching water back on in certain areas, following an 86-hour maintenance that left parts of Johannesburg without water.
Some residents have expressed frustration saying that the water tankers have been few and far between.

Rand Water Spokesperson Makenosi Maroo says that the maintenance plan was meant to conclude this evening, but added that some areas have started getting water.
“We are looking at around between 7 and 9pm, we should be done. Then now we are looking at all the areas which will be getting water. It will not be all the areas at the same time. We have high-lying areas, we have low-lying areas. The low-lying areas will be the ones starting to get water first, then they’ll be followed by the high lying areas. We gave ourselves three to five days to say that, it will be the full recovery of the maintenance project. We know that after five days, everything will be done, everyone will have water, we’re starting from tonight, by Friday we’re saying people will have water,” says Maroo.
