Water utility, Rand Water has refuted claims that its water in some parts of the Emfuleni Local Municipality is contaminated and poisoned.
This after voice notes circulated on social media alleging that the water in the Vaal area has been poisoned.
The voice notes advise residents to stop drinking tap water.
The water utility has assured residents that its water is free of any contamination.
Rand Water Spokesperson, Makenosi Maroo says, “Rand Water would like to assure members of the public that the water it supplies to all its customers, including Emfuleni Local Municipality is free of any contamination and complies to the South African National Standard (SANS) 241.”
