Ramokgopa urges Limpopo conference delegates to uphold ANC mandate

African National Congress (ANC) Second Deputy Secretary General, Maropeng Ramokgopa, says leaders elected in conferences should carry out the mandate given by delegates. She was speaking at the ANC’s provincial elective conference in Limpopo.

The conference had a rocky start due to an urgent application to interdict it. The urgent application was, however, dismissed by the High Court in Polokwane.

Ramokgopa says delegates give the new leaders responsibilities.

“We expect our delegates to just coordinate some of those arrangements and positions that they came up with from their own BGMs and RTCs to come to discuss them here and take them on. That is the purpose of why we have a conference, and that will then now give a mandate to the elected leadership for the next four years,” says Ramokgopa.
