Electricity and Energy Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa attends the first G20 Energy Transitions Working Group Meeting in Pretoria on February 27, 2025.
Electricity and Energy Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa will this morning update the media on the status of South Africa’s electricity generation performance.
This comes after Eskom’s announcement yesterday that it would implement stage two load shedding during evening peak periods.
Energy and Electricity Ministry spokesperson Tsakane Khambane says, “The Minister of Electricity and Energy, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, will provide an update on South Africa’s electricity generation performance.”
Khambane says, “This follows Eskom’s implementation of stage two load shedding due to capacity challenges. These include delays in delays in returning generation units from maintenance, impacting our power supply.”
