African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa will introduce the Service Delivery Action Plan to thousands of his party’s councillors at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg on Monday morning.
Adopted by the ANC’s Special NEC meeting over the weekend, the plan seeks to find solutions to widespread service delivery failures in the country’s 257 municipalities.
The party’s top brass met over the weekend to discuss the state of local government with the sole purpose of addressing the countrywide service delivery challenges.
The meeting adopted the Service Delivery Action Plan, which President Ramaphosa said is central to speeding up service delivery and ensuring that the local government works better for the people.
He also said they would ensure that their candidate selection methods for the 2026 local polls, produce capable and qualified candidates of impeccable moral standing.
