File: President Cyril Ramaphosa answers questions in the National Assembly at Parliament in Cape Town on September 13, 2024
President Cyril Ramaphosa will answer oral questions in the National Assembly at Parliament today.
His appearance in the House comes shortly after his visit to the United States (US).
His trip is not part of the questions, however, if there is a question that is related to the visit, it can be raised during a follow-up question.
One of the questions that Ramaphosa will answer includes measures that government has put in place for job creation and stimulating economic growth to shield South Africans from the high cost of basic necessities.
This is in light of the increase in costs of the average household food basket by nearly 40% above the rate of inflation.
Another question is related to the commission of inquiry he announced, to investigate whether there were attempts to prevent investigations or prosecution of apartheid-era crimes referred by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
