Ramaphosa to address traditional and Khoi-San leaders

President Cyril Ramaphosa is addressing the annual opening of the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders (NHTKL) in Parliament today.

The NHTKL is made up of traditional leaders who are delegates from the Provincial Houses of Traditional Leaders of South Africa and represent the Provincial Houses at the national level.

In his State of the Nation Address, Ramaphosa reasserted government’s commitment to work with traditional leaders in the implementation of local government development programmes.

He said the main objective of working with traditional leaders is to reaffirm government’s collaboration with the institution of traditional leaders as a vital conduit and component for job creation, poverty reduction and improving the lives of South Africans.
