Ramaphosa to address the National Water and Sanitation Indaba

President Cyril Ramaphosa will today address the National Water and Sanitation Indaba in Midrand, Gauteng.

The gathering is expected to highlight government’s commitment to tackling South Africa’s water security challenges.

The Presidency says the Water and Sanitation Indaba will assess the progress made on implementing last year’s water summit resolutions and mobilise various sectors and expertise to agree on a national water and sanitation plan.

This strategy will focus on expanding access to water and sanitation services, enhancing water infrastructure, and implementing effective measures to improve water security and service reliability.

The Indaba comes at a time when various parts of the country face water challenges as a result of ageing infrastructure, syndicates and the vandalism of essential public infrastructure and corruption.
