President Cyril Ramaphosa addresses a media conference at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on April 24, 2025.
President Cyril Ramaphosa says the Government of National Unity (GNU) is still intact despite the Democratic Alliance (DA) taking a resolution that it was opposed to land expropriation without compensation.
Ramaphosa was speaking on the sidelines at the Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium in Cape Town.
He says they’re enhanced the Act.
“The more people talk about it, the more they articulate their views a greater understanding begins to emerge that what we are seeking to do is very much in line with our constitutional construct. It’s in line with Section 25, that yes the provision of the expropriation of land is something that happens all over the world, many countries have that provision and we also have modernised our expropriation act of 1975.”
