Former President Jacob Zuma together with current ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa
African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa says all due processes to expel former party President Jacob Zuma were followed according to the party’s constitution.
Zuma, who was expelled last year after forming the MK Party, has written a letter to the ANC demanding that his membership be reinstated.
This is despite the party’s National Disciplinary Committee of appeal upholding the decision of the National Disciplinary Committee to expel him.
Speaking to the media in Athlone, Cape Town, Ramaphosa says the disciplinary process against Zuma has been concluded.
“Disciplinary processes in the ANC have been conducted, done and dusted. So, I have not seen the letter but all I can say is that we’ve followed due process and the secretary has been absolutely proper and correct in the way that he has led the interpretation and execution of our constitution. So, we will read the letter as we should and we will also take a view of the letter.”
