African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa says KwaZulu-Natal has the capacity of creating an economy that can contribute to reducing unemployment. Ramaphosa was speaking at Durban’s ICC at an ANC fundraising Gala Dinner.

The event was attended by former ANC provincial leaders and business people. Ramaphosa says the province is likely to become the engine to economic growth as long as there are proper governance and capable institutions.
“This province carries both the weight of our history and the promise of our future. KZN is the province of great opportunity and it remains one of the strategically positioned economies on our continent. It is home to the port of Durban, the busiest port on the entire continent. If we get our governance right, and build our institutions KZN can become the growth of engine of Southern Africa.”
