Ramaphosa announces plans to revitalise Johannesburg

The government has vowed to intensify efforts to revitalise and rejuvenate Johannesburg and return it to its former glory. President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced the establishment of the Presidential Johannesburg Working Group.

Ramaphosa is meeting with the Executive Committee of the Johannesburg City Council which included the  Mayor and his Members of the Mayoral Committees.

The meeting is also attended by several Cabinet Ministers and their deputies as well as some Directors General and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.

“We are proposing the establishment of the Presidential Johannesburg Working Group. Now, what this means is that the situation that has evolved here has led you to invite the president into your Council Chamber and I am now here, and we are going to work together to rebuild Johannesburg and to take Johannesburg back to its glory days because we are now going to do real effective work,” says Ramaphosa.
