A R50 000 reward has been offered to anyone with information regarding missing Community Radio Journalist Aserie Sibusiso Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli. The National Press Club and the African Media and Communications Forum made the announcement during a media briefing in Tshwane.

The two media institutions say they’ve searched mortuaries and hospitals, among others, but these haven’t yielded any positive results. It’s nearly a month since the couple was reported missing.

On Tuesday, it will be a full month since Aserie Sibusiso Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli were reported missing.

The couple was last seen in separate locations. Mdhluli in KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga and Ndlovu leaving his workplace in Mamelodi. Their families haven’t been coping well since then.

“It has been hard, and we’ve been struggling to cope, especially the kids and we hope they come back alive,” says Lillian Mokgala, Zodwa Mdhluli’s sister.

“Ndlovu’s car is still missing and hopefully they’ll be found alive,” says Calvin Rafadi, Crime expert.

A R50 000 has been offered for anyone who will provide information to the police.

“We’re certain that the reward will make a difference in the investigation,” says Elijah Mhlanga, African Media and Communicators Forum.

“We’ve been worried since Ndlovu’s disappearance…” says Antoinette Slabbert, National Press Club.

As investigations continue and allegations of extortion circulate, it was clarified that it’s still unclear why Ndlovu and Mdhluli disappeared.
