Road users are advised that the R30 between Beatrix mine and Welkom will be closed from six pm Saturday evening until Sunday morning due to flooding.
Free State Road Incident Management System chairperson Sipho Towa says the road is unsafe and a number of crashes have already occurred.
Towa says warning signs and full traffic control will be provided during the day on Saturday.
Road users are requested to exercise caution and obey traffic signs or use alternative routes.
