Proteas men’s head coach Shukri Conrad has stuck to the tried and tested core of test players for the World Test Championship final against Australia at Lord’s in London next month. Temba Bavuma will lead the side.

The South Africans’ pace attack will be spearheaded by Kagiso Rabada, Dane Paterson and Lungi Ngidi.

Ngidi returns to the test squad for the first time since October last year.

The bowling unit is also bolstered by all-rounders Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder and Corbin Bosch, and spinners, Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy.

Aiden Markram, Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs and David Bedingham feature among the batters. Kyle Verreynne will do duty as wicketkeeper.

The final is scheduled to get underway on the 11th of next month. The squad will assemble on the 31st of May.

They will play a warm-up match against Zimbabwe before heading to London.
