Proteas batter Tony de Zorzi scored a century
Despite a century by Tony de Zorzi, South Africa were bowled out for 269 in their first innings of the first cricket test against Pakistan in Lahore.
The Proteas, who are the reigning ICC World Test Champions, resumed their first innings on 216 for the loss of six wickets on the third morning.
De Zorzi who was unbeaten on 81, reached his second test century off 162 deliveries in the first hour of play. It was only the second score of significance in South Africa’s innings.
But once he was dismissed for 104 by Norman Ali who took six for 112, South Africa’s resistance crumbled.
They were bowled out, 109 runs short of Pakistan’s first innings score of 378 all out.
